Rolesville Middle School has adopted the Positivity Project this year. The Positivity Project is designed to empower students to build positive relationships and become their best selves.

RMS believes these positive character traits contribute to a strong school environment that leads to academic and personal success of  students. Quarterly, students will be recognized at celebration that the PTA hosts.

Our goal is to promote and support the education, health and success of all children and youth at Rolesville Middle School by educating parents and families about issues concerning public schools, its students and their overall health and wellbeing. We do our best to stay current on local legislation, education, health and safety policies, in order to be a resource to the families in our school community and participate when appropriate.

An extra little way to say “thank you” during Staff Appreciation Week where we recognize those dedicated school bus drivers who work tirelessly every single day to make sure our children get to and from school safely.

The Beautification Committee seeks to help RMS put its best foot forward. We've made a commitment to maintaining the large planters outside the main entrance with fresh foliage, general grounds clean up days, weeding, seasonal planting & container garden maintenance.

Throughout the year students will participate in Fitness/Skills Assessments as a part of their PE requirements. The top 5 scores are recorded on posters that are hung outside the gymnasium.  The PTA assists the Healthful Living team by producing these posters.

We believe that learning to serve and care for others is an important part of the educational experience.  RMS wants to create a culture of caring among its students and staff and we participate in several community outreach programs throughout the year: Super Bowl of Caring toiletry drive, Backpack Buddies and Note in the Pocket.

RMS Teachers/Staff provide so much to our students—inspiration, motivation and, ultimately, their futures. In May, during "Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week", we would like to show our thanks and gratitude by treating them like the V.I.P's that they are. We provide lunch, breakfast and little treats in between.

RMS is a proud sponsor of the Geography Bee. Each year talented students test their geographic knowledge. The PTA financially supports this competition.

Tight school budgets mean that teachers often have to cut corners or go without activities that would enhance learning. Surveys consistently show that the typical teacher spends their own income each year to purchase classroom supplies. The RMS teacher grant program helps fill those gaps and encourages teachers to find creative ways to reach students.

We may be on break, but our teachers/staff are working hard preparing for the new school year. We provide lunch so there’s one less thing for them to worry with as they get ready to welcome our children.

Through partnership with Quail Ridge Books, RMS invites authors to come to share their stories and experience with our students.  Students are given the opportunity to discuss and purchase the author's book(s).

RMS is a proud sponsor of the Spelling Bee. Each year talented spellers compete on the classroom and school levels. We assist with conducting the Spelling Bee, provide medals to winners and financial sponsor this event.

The Cultural Arts program exposes students to a variety of performing arts experiences by sending professional artists into the classrooms for hands-on workshops and performances. Through these Cultural Arts experiences, students expand their appreciation as engaged audience members and build their skills as performers.

Before we know it, our 8th grade students will be heading off to High School.  We look forward to celebrating this milestone with them during this PTA sponsored reception at the end of the year.

Classroom monitors are needed to assist with End Of Grade testing to ensure accuracy, integrity and fairness in the evaluation of our students’ learning, We help ensure classrooms remain orderly, quiet and that students are following directions and not sharing responses.

BrainPop is a group of educational websites with over 1,000 short animated movies for students in grades K-12, together with quizzes and related materials, covering the subjects of science, social studies, English, math, engineering and technology, health, and arts and music.
PTA helps fund the Brainpop subscription to enhance the classroom educational experience for RMS students.
